Guiding Yourself Into a Spiritual Reality

hero-image

An Audiosensory soundscape inspired by the dust, soil, rock, stone and animals of the outdoors.

Sanam Sindhi has lived many lives, each journey inspiring in its own right.

She’s a woman who makes time for herself and combats her anxiety and stress by going outdoors, turning off technology, and tuning in, which allows her the space to make meaningful projects like @southasiaarchive.

The incredible project is filled with tons of research committed to shedding light on and making space for new conversations about beauty and fashion, specifically in her native India. It’s more than just a nod to the buzzwords of diversity and inclusion, instead serving as a reminder of the plethora of stories existing worldwide that are either overlooked or completely dismissed.

We asked Sanam to make a playlist inspired by the change in seasons, with connections to the earth and its elements.

IT IS THE TREES AND FLOWERS, THE AWESOME MOUNTAINS AND THE ETERNAL SNOWS THAT HAVE CONSISTENTLY STIRRED THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF THE CREATIVE CRAFTSMAN.

“In Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh it is the trees and flowers, the awesome mountains and the eternal snows that have consistently stirred the consciousness of the creative craftsman. The kingfisher, bulbul and the honeybee quicken the woodcarver’s fingers while the shimmering waters of the myriad lakes and streams lend inspiration to his quest for harmony in colour and form. A deep and binding relationship with the land, encompassing its dust, soil, rock, stone and animals — whether mountain goat or valley deer — still sharpens and heightens the artistic awareness of the craftspeople.” – Guiding Yourself Into a Spiritual Reality, 1983
